I’m gonna call this Video Friday! Now these videos have been making their way around the net so I won’t bore you too much with the details. Sit back and enjoy the videos (and choas).

Usually my blog consists of racing, Subaru Performance, and Subaru Icons but this time, we gotta dim the lights and talk about something that is a little more serious and may potentially change history. My friend Mike from SubieTech sent me this article via email from the non profit organization Change.org. Now from my understanding and from what I’ve gathered, women are still not allowed to drive automobiles in Saudi Arabia (or even ride a bike for that matter) and recently there was a woman who made a viral video who was driving. She was promptly arrested.

Now where does Subaru fit in all this? Well, Subaru’s marketing campaigns heavily towards families and women. Subaru also sells vehicles in Saudi Arabia. So if women aren’t allowed to drive (for now) in Saudi Arabia then why bother marketing towards women? This progressive thinking is right up Subaru’s alley and let’s see if they do something about it.

Although there are many women now taking a stand and making good points about why they should be able to drive (well, I know many) the traditions and beliefs of that region still stand strong. Many politicians have stepped up including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

So if you believe strongly on this (which you should) and think that Subaru can make a difference by pulling out of Saudi Arabia until the government has lifted the ban, sign the petition and help the women in Saudi Arabia!

I love how Travis is still around rocking his Subie even though many have shunned his circle track duties as of late. If you’re a true Travis Pastrana fan, you know that he hasn’t forgotten his Subie roots.

In this video that was just uploaded, Travis calls out Ken Block on his marketing campaign etc. It’s all good though and no one should take this all to seriously. After all, DC does cut Travis a paycheck from time to time. It’s like a friend calling you out during a game of ping pong… or fooseball… or maybe something a little more competitive.

Anyways, enjoy this video, I know I did (The car, not the women…. err, ladies… err… Grandmas?)

So I was swimming around the world wide web (or should I have been surfing?) and came across this amazing STi. I don’t have much info on it other than it was from the guys at NotSoStock.com and it’s pretty stout.

According to the article, they were testing this car out and its wet set up. I think it’s made for a touring series in Canada. In fact, I recall it used to be World Rally Blue and it had a factory body.

Door Handles? We don’t need no stinkin’ door handles! Aerocatch door handles keep an aerodynamic look.

All the standard race interior parts… pretty serious.

Proper! Check out the rest of the car on NotSoStock.com and see it in action!

Car and driver reports on their blog today that Subaru’s Ts model targets BMW’s M power brand! Ts stands for tuned by sti, which seems a little redundant, but signifies a step above the standard sti. Though this model carries the same power plant. More info on Car and Drivers blog

Spy shots make me giggle. Our friends from Autoblog got these amazing photos of the RWD Subaru coupe on the Nurbergring a few days ago. Far removed from the Mules that we’ve seen, this is starting to take shape as an awesome example of a performance coupe that many Subaru fans have been waiting for.

Our friends from Wrecked Magazine posted this up. I saw this all over Facebook. It was the Toyota 1JZ-GTE powered Drift Subaru was stolen from a Car Show in the UK this past weekend. After a crazy Social Networking blitz, they were able to find it with only a few stickers missing and minus the rear wing. So, how do these thieves think they were going to sell these parts? On NASIOC? “F/S: 1JZ Swap for a Subaru Kit”. Idiots. I’m glad that they found this Subie and I hope that we don’t have to hear any more stories like this!

Autoblog UK reported that Mark Higgins has broken the TT record for this road rally in a standard WRX  STi.

However, the event wasn’t without some peril as Higgins almost crashes hard as seen on these videos:

What I don’t understand is how calm and collected he is AFTER that save. I mean, I myself have had some crazy saves at the TRACK but on a city street with light poles everywhere. Also, who gave that co driver a tranquilizer shot before this ride because he was equally calm after that save!

So I was browsing the internetz today and found this site: http://www.becauseracecar.org

I thought these were funny (featuring subies):

As much as we wish that this new upcoming Subaru Sports Coupe (aka Toyobaru) was AWD, we have started to see Toyota’s versions everywhere. Seems like Subaru has been keeping their designs under wraps.

Enter Road and Track online. They’ve snapped some images of the Subaru coupe testing (including their Get More G’s tennis ball).

I can’t post up the pictures on the blog due to copyrights but you can go on to their website here to see images.
